A Short Story

Once upon a time, there was a little girl. She was 9 years old turning 10 when she got taken away from her family. Around the same time, her mom had her second child, which was a little girl. She didn’t get taken away—only the older girl did. A month later, she was supposed to have her little sister with her. They wanted to take her away as well, but it didn’t happen. She was instead put at a different home with a different family. After two months of being separated from home, both of the girls were able to go back home. Things seem to be better at the time, until the boyfriend came back and started to be aggressive towards the mom and the older daughter. About the age of 12, both of the daughters were taken away. But after spending a night at Polinsky, a foster family came to get them the next morning. Both the girls where then at a safe place and were able to heal, specially the older one. Now, the mom is happily living at her own place and has her youngest child with her.
